Each day I add music to my soundtrack to 2020 Spotify playlist. Here’s the list for the first ten days of 2020.
Wednesday 1 January: Pentatonix – First Things First
Clean up the bathroom after your son threw up (too much alcohol in the stomache) at 3 AM, hearing the sounds of heavy fireworks at 8 AM already again, coffee at 8.30 AM, dismantling the Christmas tree at 9 AM. Welcome to the new year in Balkbrug. Pentatonix, who we will see live in Amsterdam on 2 April sings about first things first.
Thursday 2 January: Steven Mudd – First Walk
I completed my first 30 kilometers walk of 2020 today on the IJsselpad from Olst to Zwolle.
Friday 3 January: Eagle Eyed Tiger – Drizzle // Flash Flood
Drizzle rain all day long.
Saturday 4 January: Simple Minds – Water Front
One of the quarters I walked through today in the city of Harderwijk is called Waterfront. Simple Minds wrote a song with the same title.
Sunday 5 January: Radiohead – Jigsaw Falling Into Place
The 3,000 jigsaw puzzle with the history of Deventer depicted in a bird view of the city is falling into place…piece by piece.
Monday 6 January: Michael Price – Back to Work
Holidays are over. I took the train to Utrecht to see Capgemini colleagues, wish them a happy new year, and resume working.
Tuesday 7 January: Titiyo – Evighet
Yesterday night, I listened to scandipop and beyond playlist while reading. One of the tracks really stood out, Evighet (eternity) by the Swedish Titiyo Yambalu Felicia Jah, who happens to be a step-sister of Neneh Cherry’s step-sister (remember 7 Seconds with Youssou N’Dour ?) and Eagle-Eye Cherry. You may know Titiyo from her hit Come Along.
Wednesday 8 January: Happy Birthday Dad
My father in law celebrated his 86th anniversary. Happy birthday Dad!
Thursday 9 January: Boyce Avenue – The Reason
Friday 10 January: ARTY & Cimo Fränkel – Daydreams
Smooth vocal trance Anjunabeats style by Russian DJ, producer, and musician ARTY featuring Dutch singer / songwriter Cimo Fränkel to remember this weekend: “You got my back in the darkest hour. You pick me up when it all goes south. You calling me out, bring me back to Earth. And you lift me up, showing me my worth.”
