Each day I add music to my soundtrack to 2019 Spotify playlist. Here’s the list for the first leg of December 2019.
Sunday 1 December: HAIM – Hallelujah
Alana Haim, drummer of the sister act HAIM wrote the lyrics for Hallelujah remembering a personal loss years ago. “Give me direction when it is hard to fight. Three roads, one light. Now and then I can lean my back to yours. Travelin’ like our feet don’t touch the floor. Why me? How’d I get this hallelujah?”
Monday 2 December: Immanu El – Levels
As a people manager, the yearly calibration session to set performance (retrospective) and potential (for the future) levels for my delegees, is one of sharing and comparing. Today’s the first day of the rest of your life. What shall I give you as encouragement or challenge? This song fits in, Swedish Immanu El‘s alt / dream pop in Levels.
Tuesday 3 December: NINA & The New Division – Automatic Call
NINA collaborated with The New Division on Automatic Call.
Wednesday 4 December: Greg Gow – Memory Flash
To record four hours of video, I need a more advanced flash memory card. There’s Amazon for that, and the music of Toronto-based Greg Gow, one of Canada’s leading Techno electronic dance music artists.
Thursday 5 December: Lenka – We Belong
Friday 6 December: Céline Dion – Imperfections
Saturday 7 December: Bob Dylan – Shelter from the Storm
I watched the 2015 movie Steve Jobs that was made based on the biography Isaac Walterson wrote. The unattainable Shelter from the Storm, perfectly visualized in the movie. Bob Dylan’s track played while the credits scrolled by.
Sunday 8 December: Nona – Birds of the Night
Monday 9 December: Wolfpakk, Michael Sweet & Jean-Marc Viller – Nature Strikes Back
Tuesday 10 December: Neil Frances – Rewind
