Henk-Jan’s soundtrack to 2019: 21-30 September

Each day I add music to my soundtrack to 2019 Spotify playlist. Here’s the list for the third leg of September 2019.

Saturday 21 September: Jaël – Never Feel Alone Again

Never Feel Alone Again is the lead single of Nothing to Hide (release date 27 September 2019) by Swiss singer Jaël.

Sunday 22 September: The Choir – Mystical World

New music from The Choir, my all-time favorite band.

Monday 23 September: Lost Outrider & New Arcades – Eyes

Yesterday night I reviewed Heart, the new album by UK retrowave band Lost Outrider.

Tuesday 24 September: Sary Hany – Boys Night Out

Tonight, I watched Gaza Surf Club on Amazon Prime Video. From the OST, I picked this short, but lovely song.

Wednesday 25 September: Lindsey Stirling & Amy Lee

Before the worlds of Evanescence and Within Temptation collide in Spring 2020, Amy Lee teamed up with violin star Lindsey Stirling for Lindsey’s new album Artemis, that was released on 6 September. And while the Amsterdam concert was sold out quickly, I got a €10 discount code from Eventim.de, the official ticker seller in Germany. Yes, I got a ticket for the 20 April 2020 concert in the Mitsubishi Electric Halle in Düsseldorf.

Thursday 26 September: Satin Jackets & Scavenger Hunt – Feel Good

Music to dream on.

Friday 27 September: Florina – Va va vis

I came to know this song by Florina Perez last week while joining a Belgian colleague for a short drive through Amsterdam. Florina represented France in the Eurovision Song Contest 2019.

Saturday 28 September: Grunnens Laid

The celebration of the now one hundred years old Grunnens Laid, the anthem of the Dutch province Groningen, concluded today’s part of the Tocht om de Noord. I chose an alternative sing-along surf rock version of it by the local heroes Pé Daalemmer & Rooie Rinus.

Sunday 29 September: Phillip Sayce – Black Train

The opening of today’s part of Tocht om de Noord was a trip from Veendam to Stadskanaal with a classic steam train.

Monday 30 September: Halsey – Graveyard

No worries, I’m enjoying life. Halsey‘s latest single Graveyard is about digging into her lover’s personality to find the real one she’s looking for. The timelapse video show another talent of this woman: painting! On 15 February 2020 Halsey will be in Ziggo Dome, Amsterdam for a concert as part of her Manic World Tour.
