Henk-Jan’s soundtrack to 2019: 11-20 September

Each day I add music to my soundtrack to 2019 Spotify playlist. Here’s the list for the second leg of September 2019.

Wednesday 11 September: Sukhwinder Singh & Sunidhi Chauhan – Good Man Di Laaltain

I watched Soorma (2018) on Netflix tonight about the Indian hockey legendary drag flick ‘Flicker Singh’. The Good Samaritan is one of the key songs in this movie.

Thursday 12 September: Vaughty & Cherry Ballard: Rent

This #throwbackthursday is devoted to Depeche Mode‘s Rent, covered by Vaughty & Cherry Ballard.

Friday 13 September: Oh Wonder – Hallelujah

The video clip was recorded in a single shot. Infectious pop tune, just like the rest of Oh Wonder.

Saturday 14 September: Madonna – I’m A Sinner

In tonight’s two services for inhabitants of Veldzicht, the center for transcultural psychiatry in Balkbrug, the priest played I’m a Sinner by Madonna, taken from MDNA (2012).

Sunday 15 September: TobyMac – Heart of my Beat

The only new track on The St. Nemele Collab Sessions album features a smooth signature TobyMac urban track.

Monday 16 September: MUNA – Stayaway

MUNA Saves The World, and Stayaway is one way to do exactly that.

Tuesday 17 September: Flight Brigade – Heartbreaker

So retro, yet refreshing rock by UK band Flight Brigade.

Wednesday 18 September: Wilder Woods – Supply & Demand

No, it’s not You Can Win If You Want, but a clever remix by Oliver Nelson & Tobtok in a nu-disco outfit. Wilder Woods himself will be in Paradiso, Amsterdam on 24 October for a gig.

Thursday 19 September: Swemania – Start Of Season

Today, I celebrated the start of the season with fellow trainers at the Capgemini Academy in Utrecht, The Netherlands.

Friday 20 September: Freya Ridings – Castles

Dutch DJ Sam Feldt remixed Castles, one of the great songs to walk on by Freya Ridings.
