Henk-Jan’s soundtrack to 2019: 1-10 August

Each day I add music to my soundtrack to 2019 Spotify playlist. Here’s the list for the first leg of August 2019.

Thursday 1 August: The Choir – In The Air Tonight

I proudly present my longtime favorite band, The Choir, covering In The Air Tonight, the 1981 hit by Phil Collins. The Choir boys have new ideas on releasing their music / building a new studio in Brentwood, TN / new partnerships in concert booking and other ventures. Steve, Derri, and Dan… their friendship and brotherhood have never been stronger. Their desire to create and connect has never been higher. Cheer up for The Choir. To refresh your memory I embedded the original Phil Collins video clip too for #throwbackthursday

Friday 2 August: Luke Milliion & Asta – Heard it on the Radio

Smooth mid-tempo synth pop. Perfect music by Luke Milliion & Asta from down under while painting rooms.

Saturday 3 August: Knox Hamilton – Cool

Three-piece indie rock band Knox Hamilton keeps it cool.

Sunday 4 August: Wat Aans! – Ik Ben een G

These days in Groningen come with raps in the local dialect as well. Have fun.

Monday 5 August: Said the Sky, Fractal, Illenium, Christina Soto & Au5 – Painted White

I painted a lot of walls, door posts, and decoration strips white today.

Tuesday 6 August: Jovink & The Voederbietels – Nooit Meer Noar IKEA

After a day of assembling IKEA furniture you’re tired and fed up. Never say IKEA again 😉

Wednesday 7 August: Martin Safarik & DJ Marthy – Train Delay

Off to Brussels for my weekly day of work in the office there with Belgian colleagues. Unfortunately, in Zwolle this plan already was aboneded due to a 16 minutes delayed train that couldn’t reach Schiphol Airport in time to switch to the Thalys high speed train to Brussels.

Thursday 8 August: Snow Patrol – Crack the Shutters (reworked)

A #throwbackthursday special. Snow Patrol reworked its own Crack the Shutters, originally on A Hundred Million Suns (2008).

Friday 9 August: Erwin de Vries – Op Fiets Deur Grunnen

Now everything is painted, cleaned up, assembled, and moved, it’s time to take the bike and show my daughter the city of Groningen.

Saturday 10 August: Bear’s Den – Berlin

Finally, time to relax. Off to Berlin.
