Memorable songs of 11-20 December 2017

As follow-up to 2016’s HotSpotify 366 challenge, for which I added one special song each day to a Spotify playlist, I created Henk-Jan’s soundtrack to 2017 in Spotify. A memorable song each day. A retrospective on the past 10 days.

Monday 11 December: Gary Numan – The End of Things

Taken from his new album Savage (Songs from a Broken World) Gary Numan is clear about the finity of things around us and the mercy we all need.

Tuesday 12 December: Schiller & Jette von Roth – Der Tag…Du bist erwacht

Snowflakes and longing expressed by the German keyboard wiz kid Schiller and vocalist Jette von Roth. Winter’s here these days. Nevertheless I’m traveling to Brussels.

Wednesday 13 December: Manic Street Preachers – International Blue

I picked up this one last weekend. Great rock music by the Manic Street Preachers on their brand new single.

Thursday 14 December: Olly Murs & Rizzle Kicks – Heart Skips a Beat

It’s #throwbackthursday and here’s the 2011 hit Heart Skips a Beat by Olly Murs & Rizzle Kicks.

Friday 15 December: The Neighbourhood – Stuck With Me

It’s Release Radar and New Music Friday time again. Today I found this fine track by The Neighbourhood.

Saturday 16 December: Raz Nitzan & Moya Brennan – Find The Sun (Solrastone extended mix)

The recipee is known from Schiller and Chicane. Vocal trance or electronica ambient tracks served with the soaring vocals of Moya Brennan, the voice of Clannad. Here’s Raz Nitzan in a Solarstone remix.

Sunday 17 December: Hawk Nelson – He Still Does (Miracles)

God still does miracles, testifies Hawk Nelson. Who am I to disagree?

Monday 18 December: Chicane – Gorecki

Chicane‘s back with a new single. Dream on!

Tuesday 19 December: And the Echo – The Blind Ones

I’m emtpying the Inspiratie voor Henk-Jan’s soundtrack to 2017 playlist into the real one these days. Nice track by And the Echo, has been around since 15 September.

Wednesday 20 December: Penguin Prison – Turn It Up

Another leftover from November: Penguin Prison with Turn it Up.
