Memorable songs of 11-20 October 2017

As follow-up to 2016’s HotSpotify 366 challenge, for which I added one special song each day to a Spotify playlist, I created Henk-Jan’s soundtrack to 2017 in Spotify. A memorable song each day. A retrospective on the past 10 days.

Friday, 13 October: Nothing But Thieves – Sorry

I’m not superstituous. My wife just came in to say sorry for damaging the Superb’s side in a parking garage in Zwolle despite the 360 degrees radar and reverse camera. Yes, Friday 13th ūüôā

Saturday, 14 October: Liu & WOAK – Coastline

Today I’m walking along the coastline from The Hague to Katwijk, then off the dunes along the river Rhine to Leiden. Yesterday’s New Music Friday’s edition provided me the theme song for this sunny Saturday.

Sunday, 15 October: Rend Collective – Alabaster

Ite Pijp, the preacher this morning, shared from Luke 7 about the sinful woman with the alabaster box, and Simon the pharisee.

Monday, 16 October: Kist – Feel Free

To feel free is independent on the number of appointments in today’s agenda.

Tuesday, 17 October: Frank Sinatra – Love and Marriage

My youngest brother Jaap is (finally) to marry his beloved Nathalie. Let’s enjoy their marriage with a classic song.

Wednesday, 18 October: Paul Kalkbrenner – Sky and Sand

Hurricane Ophelia impacted the Netherlands as well yesterday. The sun beams were impeded by sand from the Sahara Desert in the sky.

What a coincidence: my brother Jaap who married yesterday, had this Paul Kalkbrenner tune in his wedding playlist.

Thursday, 19 October: HAIM – That Don’t Impress Me Much

Just a week ago I reviewed the brand new Shania Twain album Now. Shania will perform in Amsterdam’s Ziggo Dome on 11 October 2018. HAIM serves the #throwbackthursday contribution for this week with their rendering of the 1997 #1 hit That Don’t Impress Me Much.

Friday, 20 October: Kings – Don’t Worry ‘Bout It

It’s weekend again, relax!
