Memorable songs of 11-20 May

As follow-up to 2016’s HotSpotify 366 challenge, for which I added one special song each day to a Spotify playlist, I created Henk-Jan’s soundtrack to 2017 in Spotify. A memorable song each day. A retrospective on the past 10 days.

Thursday 11 May: Mandisa & Britt Nicole – What You’re Worth

Mandisa and Britt Nicole collaborated and emphasize showing what you’re worth. On May 19, Mandisa’s new album, Out of the Dark, will be released.

Friday 12 May: 77’s – This Is The Way Love Is

What a surprise, 77’s re-issued several albums and compilations. Now on Spotify: Watchnight Service with live performances of songs previously released on More Miserable Than You’ll Ever Be, and Eighty-Eight.

Saturday 13 May: Electro Spectre – Little Wonder

Kennedy March Hilversum in progress. You’d better have great walking music to listen to.

Sunday 14 May: Norah Benatia – W.O.M.A.N.

It’s Mother’s Day. Norah Benatia qualifies mother as a superfly, control-freak, multi-tasker, etc.

Monday 15 May: Jennifer Hudson – Remember Me

Jennifer Hudson‘s Remember Me, a lovely power pop song.

Tuesday 16 May: The Classic Crime – Holy Water

Holy Water was with me a couple of weeks on a Spotify playlist. What a great rock track by The Classic Crime!. How To Be Human is the full album, out now.

Wednesday 17 May: We Are Leo – Dimensions

We Are Leo mix mid-tempo rock and electronica. Dimensions is the lead single to the upcoming The Rush & The Roar album.

Thursday 18 May: Madeline Juno – Still

The German singer Madeline Juno (sorry for non-German speakers) just released a new pop single, Still (Silence).

Friday 19 May: No Vacation – Yam Yam

Indeed, no vacation yet. Today’s new single Yam Yam is a dreamy melody.

Saturday 20 May: Imagine Dragons – Whatever It Takes

Imagine Dragons‘ new single is called Whatever It Takes. I’m walking a Kennedy March today in the Cuijk region. That takes physical condition as well as mental endurance to complete the 50 miles.
