Memorable songs of 1-10 March 2017

In 2016 I beat the HotSpotify 366 challenge, for which I added one special song each day to a Spotify playlist, I had too much to leave it there. As follow-up I created Henk-Jan’s soundtrack to 2017 in Spotify.

Friday, 3 March: Carmen Justice & David Thulin – Flaming Arrows

Welcome to the weekend! I feel in need to rest and breathe. What’s ahead? A 40+ miles walk on Saturday ūüėČ 1 Girl Nation singer Carmen Justice bowed down from this band after being with 1GN for 5 years. She’s the 3rd member after¬†Kelsey Sowards (2014) and Lindsey Adamec (2015) stepping down from the girl band. Flaming Arrows is Carmen’s debut solo single.

Saturday, 4 March: Moya Brennan – River of Songs

First lady of Celtic music, Moya Brennan is back with a new solo album, 9 years after Heart Strings. Lead single and opening track of Canvas is River of Songs.

Sunday, 5 March: Rogier Pelgrim РRat Race

Dutch singer songwriter Rogier Pelgrim presented his new album Birds and Busy People last Friday night in Arnhem. I’m still figuring out all the songs of this crowdfunded release, but here’s the single published on Spotify: Rat Race. Life feels like one sometimes often.

Monday, 6 March: Alvaro Soler – Sofia

Only a week ago we were still in Florence, Italy. During one of the nights in the B&B we watched RTL102.5, an Italian music station, where a concert of Alvaro Soler was aired. Nice to see the band famous for Sofia, play live. Last Saturday night Alvaro Soler had a gig in the Amsterdam pop stage Melkweg.

Wednesday, 8 March: ATB & Andrew Rayel – Connected

ATB‘s dreamhouse¬†/ trance is still around. Andr√©¬†Tanneberger’s act presents a new single with Moldovan producer and DJ Andrew Rayel.

Thursday, 9 March: Acceptance – We Can Escape

After 12 years with Anberlin, singer Stephen Christian joined his previous band Acceptance again. Their brand new album is called Colliding By Design. I picked We Can Escape for you.

Friday, 10 March: Arty & Maty Noyes – Falling Down

This weekend’s start is for Russian producer and DJ Arty featuring American vocalist Maty Noyes, known from collaborations with Norwegian DJ and producer Kygo.
