Danny Flood – Hack Sleep: How to Fall Asleep Faster, Sleep Better and Sleep Well, and Naturally Reverse Sleep Disorders

hack-sleep-danny-floodDanny Flood wrote Hack Sleep for readers that suffer from insomnia or spend too many nights awake, unable to fall asleep or waking up too early in the morning. Subtitled How to Fall Asleep Faster, Sleep Better and Sleep Well, and Naturally Reverse Sleep Disorders, the 83 pages booklet shows how our circadian cycle (the almost 24 hours or body temperature, wake/sleep rhythm) can be supported with refraining from screen time, adjusting lighting, drinks and nutrition, and covering your eyes.

It also addresses the so-called 90-minute ultradian cycle, the foundation for the time management Pomodoro technique, the use and abuse of drugs, practical resources ranging from mobile apps like Caffeine Zone 2 to eating bananas. Flood summarizes his findings in an accessible manner but may enter areas beyond your comfort zone when he’s recommending self-hypnosis, and self-massage to fall asleep almost instantly. We sleep one-third of our lives, so let’s be careful enabling it, to fully enjoy the two-third we’re wide awake.
