Memorable songs of 11-20 February 2017

In 2016 I beat the HotSpotify 366 challenge, for which I added one special song each day to a Spotify playlist, I had too much to leave it there. As follow-up I created Henk-Jan’s soundtrack to 2017 in Spotify. Every 10 days I present a recap of my findings.

Saturday, 11 February: Imagine Dragons – Believer

The new single leading to the third Imagine Dragons album is out. Release date and title of the full album, however are TBA.

Sunday, 12 February: Just Us – Cloudbusting

The 1985 hit Cloudbusting by Kate Bush was covered recently by Just Us, a collaboration between producers Steven Lee Vovrosky and Carl Kennedy. Not a bad rework INMHO. I included the original video clip to refresh your memory.

Monday, 13 February: Holly Starr – Run The Race

We were made to run. Let’s keep our focus on the prize. Holly Starr’s new single helps you running along.

Tuesday, 14 February: Amber Arcades – It Changes

I won’t stay long in Brussels. Getting back home tonight. I’ll be back on Thursday night. It is different, every week. Amber Arcades (Annelotte de Graaf is her real name) pitches her rock song on changes.

Wednesday, 15 February: Anna Visi – Is It Safe?

Today and Thursday are reserved for Leading SAFe training at Capgemini Academy, in Utrecht, The Netherlands.

Thursday, 16 February: Amy Lee – With or Without You

Amy Lee, Evanescence vocalist, released Recover vol. 1. This year a volume 2 can be expected, Love Exists was released last week as lead single. Throwback Thursday‘s cover of U2’s With or Without You is my choice.

Friday, 17 February: Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness – So Close

This Spotify recommendation to add to my Inspiration for Henk-Jan’s soundtrack to 2017 was bingo! A fine pop rock tune to walk to by a guy called Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness.

Saturday, 18 February: Hermes House Band – Rotterdam

Today I’m visiting Erasmus University Rotterdam with our daughter. She’s searching for a suitable Bachelor and Master study with several options still open to explore. Hermes House Band, one of the party bands famous at the time I studied business economics at the University of Groningen, has a kind of happy to be back in Rotterdam song in store for us today.

Sunday, 19 February: Sorority Noise – No Halo

Though called saints as Christians you won’t see a halo above our head.

Monday, 20 February: Aaron Sprinkle & Elle Puckett – Invincible

A nice synth pop track from an unexpected duo: Tooth & Nail veteran Aaron Sprinkle & Elle Puckett (half of Poema).
