In Dancing on Rocks, her 4th novel in the Blue Ridge Series, Rose Senehi highlighted the history of tourist town Chimney Rock in the Appalachians Mountains. The Haydock famliy lost their child 25 years ago in the middle of the night. Did Georgie drown her? Was the river’s current too strong? Georgie, now back visiting her mother’s shop in the tourist area not only tries to reconnect with naturalist Ron Eliott, her youth love, currently hiking expert, but also tries to nurse her mother regaining health. Where Ron’s not interested in Georgie’s past, but eagier to capture her love, Georgie’s sister and mother alternate between believing in blaming Georgie for everything that happened and hope for a safe return of their beloved baby Shelby. When a strange woman comes to town, hope glimmers.
The novel is a series of conversations, memories, secrets and discoveries. You will imagine yourself hiking through the mountains, descending to the river and reliving tragedies and waiting for the happy end for this mystery. Where people only have each other to rely on, the truth must be told. Senehi’s book has vivid characters on universal emotions of a mother deeply missing her child, guilt and liberty.
